Instructions:
Following the instructions included with the Charming Circles ruler, cut nine denim circles and nine 5” fabric squares. Using instructions for either the “Basting Spray Method” or the “Marking Method”, piece circles and squares together in three rows of three. Finish pillow front in a “shabby chic” or smooth finish per instructions included with the ruler.

For pillow back, cut two pieces of denim 17” x 12”. For each piece of denim fold one long, 17” edge ½”, wrong sides together and press. Fold under again, 1” and press.

For one backing piece, pin the hook side of the tape to the top, right side of the folded, pressed edge, centering side to side. Sew in place close to the edges of the tape.

For the second backing piece, pin the loop side of the tape to the back, wrong side of the folded, pressed edge, centering side to side. Sew in place close to the edges of the tape.

Layer the two backing pieces together, connecting the hook and loop tape, that it appears in the center.

For a “shabby chic” finished pillow:
Center pillow top on pillow back, wrong sides together and pin in place. Sew front to back, stitching close to outside edges of pillow front. Trim pillow back to ¼” from edge of pillow top. Machine wash and dry. Insert pillow form.

For a smooth finished pillow:
Trim pillow back to 16” square. Fold edges under ½” and press. Place pillow top on pillow back, wrong sides together and pin in place. Top stitch front to back sewing close to edges, making sure to capture both layers. Insert pillow form.
