Materials:
Background block fabric
Three assorted fabrics for blades
Thread
Instructions:
From background fabric, cut an 8 1/2" Square
Cut three blade fabrics in 7" strips.
Lay fabric strips on cutting mat. Place Dresden Express™
12 on fabric strip aligning the bottom horizontal line of ruler with
the bottom edge of the fabric.
Make sure the fabric straight of grain will run down the center of the
blade as indicated on the ruler.
In succession; cut along one outside edge of ruler, in center slots,
and opposite outside edge of the ruler. This will create three identical
Dresden blades. Layer fabric strips to cut multiple fabric blades at
one time.
For Rounded Top: Place ruler on blade, aligning narrow bottom edge of
blade with ruler drawing at the 7" marking for 7" blades. Using
a rotary cutter, simply cut around the top curved edge of the ruler.
Using a 1/4" seam allowance, stitch three blades together beginning
at top and stopping 1/4" from narrow bottom edge. Press all seams
to one side. Turn under 1/4" the bottom raw edge of the three blades
and press.
Place three-blade unit on background fabric square aligning raw edges. Applique
as desired.
