1 yd. Turquoise fleece
1/2 yd. Purple fleece
Thread to match
Fancy Fleece™ Ruler from June Tailor®
Rotary cutter

Instructions:

Cut turquoise fabric 28” by 56”.

Fold turquoise fleece in half widthwise. Using rotary cutter and Fancy Fleece™ ruler, cut wavy edge through both layers on length of fabric. Lining up the straight edge of the Fancy Fleece ruler on the fold of fabric, cut wavy edge along the bottom width of the fleece.

Cut 1 strip of purple fleece 6” by 53”. Cut two strips of purple fleece measuring 6” by 32”.

Using a 1/2” seam allowance, sew 32” strips perpendicular to opposite ends of 53” strip of fleece, lining up 6” edges with width edge of 53” strip. Press seems open.

Pin front of pieced purple unit to back of main turquoise portion of fleece, overlapping 2”. Make sure bottom wavy edge of turquoise fleece is pinned to purple unit. Using the wavy edge of the turquoise fleece as a guide, top stitch turquoise and purple fleece together, 1/2” from edge.

Fold pieced poncho fabric in half widthwise, right sides together. Beginning at top outside edge, using a 1/2” seam allowance, stitch toward fold, stopping 13” from fold to form neck opening. Back tack ends. Press seam open.

Turn poncho right side out, keeping purple edges even. Using rotary cutter and Fancy Fleece™ ruler, cut scallop edge on purple fleece edges, cutting through both layers of fabric.
