Flower Power Pillow


Materials:

One 14” Pillow Form
1/2 yd. of fleece fabric for pillow
4” x 21” piece of fleece for small flower
4 1/2” x 24” piece of fleece for large flower
One 1 1/8” button
Thread to match
June Tailor® Fancy Fleece™ ruler
Rotary cutter
Rotary cutting mat


Instructions:

Cut two panels of fleece measuring 15” x 15”. Center the pattern or motif of your fleece as desired if your fleece fabric has a printed pattern.

Place the two panels, right sides together, and pin to hold in place.

Using a 1/2” seam allowance, stitch sides of pillow leaving a 12” opening on bottom side.

Press seams open using a pressing cloth to protect surface of fleece.

Turn pillow right side out and place pillow form in pillow.

Hand stitch the pillow opening closed.

To make the small flower:
Line the scallop edge of the Fancy Fleece™ ruler close to the 21” edge of fleece for small flower. Using a rotary cutter and cutting mat, cut six scallops.

Using a needle and thread or sewing machine, baste long stitches 1/4” from edge of straight 21” side. Gather thread to create flower, stitching 4” edges together.

To make the large flower:
Follow the instructions above, cutting 8 scallops and complete flower.

Place button on small flower and small flower on top of large flower. Stitch three pieces together. Tack large flower to center of pillow.
