June Tailor Fancy Fleece Ruler Wavy Weave Pillow Open Printer Friendly Version

Fancy Fleece™ Wavy Weave Pillow

Materials:

One 14” Pillow Form
1/2 yd. main fleece fabric
16” square contrasting fleece fabric
Thread to match
June Tailor® Fancy Fleece™ ruler
Rotary cutter
Rotary cutting mat

Instructions:

Cut two 16” squares of main color fleece fabric. Set one piece aside for the pillow back.

Using the wavy edge of the Fancy Fleece™ ruler, cut 2” wide wavy strips from the 16” piece of main color fleece fabric and contrasting fleece fabric.

Weave strips to create a “checkerboard” pattern pillow front, pinning at all outside edges to hold in place. Weave tightly that there is no space between strips. Baste stitch woven pillow front, 1/4” in edge.

With right sides together, place fleece for pillow back on woven pillow front. Pin to hold in place.

Using a 1/2” seam allowance, stitch sides of pillow leaving a 12” opening on bottom side.

Press seams open using a pressing cloth to protect surface of fleece.

Turn pillow right side out and place pillow form in pillow.

Hand stitch the pillow opening closed.
