Quilting Glossary:
RST = Right sides together
RSU = Right sides up
WOF = Width of fabric
Crosswise = Follow grain; fold fabric selvage to selvage and
cut across fold.
All cutting measurements include ¼” seam allowance.
Sew in ¼” seam allowance.
Follow order of the steps as listed under each fabric.

Fabric A (green) 3/4 yard
Fabric B (pink floral) 1 3/4 yard
Fabric C (black floral) 2 3/8 yard
Fabric D (black swirl) 3/4 yard
Fabric E (cream) 1 1/2 yard
Backing Fabric 6 1/4 yard
Cutting Directions (cut fabric crosswise unless stated)
Fabric A (green)
Cut (6) strips 3 ½” wide, sub-cut into (68) 3 ½” squares.
Fabric B (pink floral)
Cut (8) strips 6 ½” wide for inner border.
Fabric C (black floral)
Cut (4) strips 11” wide, lengthwise for outer border.
Fabric D (black swirl)
Cut (10) strips 2 ½” wide for binding
Fabric E (cream fabric)
Cut (5) strips 10 ½” wide, sub-cut into (17) 10 ½” squares. Making the Setting Blocks
Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of each small green square.
Place small squares RST on each of the four corners of the large cream square.
Stitch along the diagonal lines of small squares. Flip up the corners to
check your work. Trim excess from small square.
Press seam allowances away from
large square. Make 17 blocks.
Assembling the Quilt Top
With RST and raw edges even, stitch the blocks in each row. Alternate the
setting blocks and the purchased quilt blocks, following quilt layout diagram.
Press the seams in each row in opposite directions. Pin the rows together
at all intersections of the seams. Stitch the rows together.
Stitch together two pink floral strips, end to end, for each inner border
portion, top, bottom, and both sides prior to attaching to quilt.
Sew pieced inner border (pink floral) to sides of pieced quilt center. Press
seams toward border. Trim off excess length. Sew pieced inner border
(pink floral) to top and bottom of pieced quilt center. Press seams toward
border. Trim off excess length. Attach outer border (black floral) to inner
border (pink floral) to both sides of quilt first. Press seam toward outer
border. Trim off excess length. Attach outer border (black floral) next to
the top and bottom of inner border (pink floral). Press seams toward outer
border. Trim off excess length.
Finishing
Layer quilt top, batting and backing. Quilt as desired. Bind. For quilting
