Quilting Glossary:
RST = Right sides together
RSU = Right sides up
WOF = Width of fabric
Crosswise = Follow grain; fold fabric selvage to selvage and
cut across fold.
All cutting measurements include ¼” seam allowance.
Sew in ¼” seam allowance.
Follow order of the steps as listed under each fabric.

Fabric A (green) 1 3/4 yards
Fabric B (rust) 1 3/8 yards
Fabric C (purple) 2/3 yard
Fabric D (paisley) 2 1/4 yards
Backing Fabric 5 1/2 yards
Cutting Directions (Cut fabric crosswise unless stated)
Fabric A (green)
     Cut (8) strips 3 ½” wide, sub-cut into (31) 3 ½” x     10 ½” rectangles.
     Cut (8) strips 3 ½” wide for inner border.
Fabric B (rust)
     Cut (8) strips 5 ½” wide for middle border.
     Cut (1) strip 3 ½” wide, sub-cut into (12) 3 ½” squares.
Fabric C (purple)
     Cut (9) strips 2 ½” wide for binding.
Fabric D (paisley)
     Cut (4) strips 7 ½” wide lengthwise for outer border.

Sewing Horizontal Sashing.
Lay out purchased blocks according to quilt layout diagram.
Stitch 1 sashing strip (green) to the top side of the bottom (16) purchased quilt blocks. Press seams toward sashing. Following quilt layout diagram, stitch purchased quilt blocks with sashing strips into 4 vertical rows of 4 blocks each. Stitch remaining 4 purchased quilt blocks to top of each pieced 4 block set. Stitch 1, 3 ½” setting square (rust) to the end of (12) of the remaining (15) sashing strips. Press seams toward the rust setting squares.
To make the vertical sashing strip sets, sew 4 sashing strips with setting squares together. Sew remaining sashing strip to one end. (Make 3)
Stitch the vertical sashing strips between the rows. Follow the quilt layout diagram. Press seams away from the blocks.

Attaching the Border
Stitch (2) inner border (green) strips together, end to end, for each inner border portion, top, bottom and both sides prior to attaching to quilt.
(Make 4) Sew pieced inner border to both sides of pieced quilt center.
Press seams toward border. Trim off excess length. Sew pieced inner border next to top and bottom of pieced quilt center. Press seams toward border. Trim off excess length.
Stitch together (2) middle border (rust) strips together, end to end, for each middle border portion, top, bottom and both sides prior to attaching to quilt. (make 4)
Sew middle border to both sides of inner border (green). Press seams toward border. Trim off excess length. Sew pieced middle border next to top and bottom of inner border (green). Press seams toward border. Trim off excess length. Stitch outer border (paisley) to both sides of quilt center. Press seams toward outer border. Trim off excess length. Sew outer border next to top and bottom of quilt. Press seams toward outer border. Trim off excess length.

Finishing
