Fabric
Bowl
Materials:
Two 13” x 13” squares of 100% cotton quilting fabric
One 13” x 13” extra heavy weight double sided fusible interfacing
for craft projects
Thread to match
Wash-out marker for fabrics
Ruler or straight edge
Scissors or rotary cutter
Rotary cutting mat
Instructions:
Sandwich fusible interfacing between two fabric squares, right sides
out and raw edges aligned. Fuse layers together using cotton setting
and steam.
Place bowl template on fused sandwich and trace around outside edges.
Using scissors or rotary cutter and cutting mat, cut out on lines drawn.
Using straight edge or ruler, draw straight lines from one inner point
to the next creating a hexagon shape in center of bowl.
Using the satin stitch of your sewing machine, begin stitching on top
of lines drawn in center of bowl from inner point to inner point. This
will give your bowl a flat base.
Working on inside of bowl, satin stitch blades together from center
outward. Pull raw edges together gradually as you stitch to avoid puckering.
Continue stitching blades together to create your bowl.
Once all blades have been stitched together, satin stitch around entire
top of bowl to finish off.
